# site\_password\_set

Create a named password for closed sections of the site, or change it: the same \`name\` takes the new password and signs out everyone who entered with the old one. \`name\`: lowercase letters, digits, - (\`acme\`, \`course-2026\`); \`password\`: 8-128 characters; \`remember\_days\`: 1-365 (default 30), how long a visitor stays signed in on a device; \`note\`: up to 200 characters, who it is for (\`Acme LLC, Ivan\`), absent keeps it, null clears it. A rule names it in \`site\_gate\_set\` \`any\_of\`: \`{"kind":"password","password":"acme"}\`; one password can serve many rules, and signing in once opens every section that accepts it. The platform keeps the password: no listing shows it, \`site\_password\_reveal\` reads it back when the owner needs it. Pass it to the audience yourself and keep it out of HTML, JS and bundle files. Up to 100 per business, on every plan. Returns \`{password:{id,name,note,remember\_days,changed\_at,used\_by\_rules,sections},created,unprojected\_hosts}\`.
